Hello,
I have a Canon Imageclass D860 fax/printer that there is a print quality issue where there is a vertical smudge (about 1" wide) from top to bottom about 1/3 from the left side of the page. It is definitely not the toner cartridge as I tried a known good working one and had the same problem. I do not see anything on the left side of the printer (paper path out) and nothing when I remove the toner cartridge. It must be a label or some other residue stuck on the printer around the fuser assembly. How can I get to the fuser on the D860? I have a feeling I have to remove the top feeder assembly to do so. Is there a service manual available that shows how to do this?
Thanks
Mike
