    [Misc] IR 8500

When I'm making copies on lettersize paper that's coming out vertically, the 1st quarter of the page come out light, like if that section of the page have moisture in it. Similarly, right now I'm copying L/S papers horizontally. and I get it now and again. What could be the problem????

Where are you making copies from... The glass?? Or are these prints??

Are you a tech or a user?

Worst case. You might wanna start thinking about replacing the transfer separation corona assy and or your primary corona assy.

But let's start with the basics

Try removing pre transfer and make some prints from service mode. see if problem goes away.

Believe it or not, today the copier started to copy without that problem but I'm not sure if permanent. I was getting another problem now. When I made copies, it seemed in some areas the toner didn't fuse properly. The toner on the page was somewhat "roughish" and it would smear slightly. I took out the fuser unit and cleaned it up to an extent. I noticed where the web touched the upper roller was dirty. I think this happens when the web doesn't move, so I replaced it with a new one and by some miracle i wasn't getting the partial fading. Is there any relation with the fixing unit and the fading? I'll be getting a new transfer separator corona assembly to replace the old one. So the question now is, what's causing the "roughness" of the print?

I'm a "user", I own and operate a copycenter, a one man show if you will.

Bad fusing can cause toner to smear because its not fusing to the paper properly by the fixing assy. Bad bushings, old bearing can cause issues like yours.

*2&* >Copier>test>Type-(5)>Ok would be a good selection for test print.

(Type PG5 is a halftone test print.)

                    Thanks for posting back.
