I know this machine is ancient but, is still have a few out in the field. I have had this problem before and replaced the sep/trans unit(sometimes fixes it), hvt connector between composite and sep/trans, composite power supply and dc controller. Anyone else know another cause? This problem sometimes only happens on 2sided. It is happening now intermittantly on single sided copying. Thank you

90% of the time it's the composite power supply.
Of the remaining 10%:
Shorted transfer/separation assembly
NP-6030 style transfer separation assembly installed (unit is shorter and makes poor contact)
Upper fixing roller bias shorted
Worn duplex rollers: (This may sound silly, but if the paper is delayed exiting the duplex tray the composite power supply is On before the paper arrives at the transfer roller, generating this code. I would scoff at this... if I hadn't seen it for myself.)If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
