[CQ] iRC5180 misaligned colours thick paper only

Only with heavy paper through bypass -I am getting colour registration issues. Severity changes from page to page.
machine has ITB mods and new ITB belt. First page through is aligned correctly and folowing pages are all out. Happens mostly on 11x17 and 12x18 not as noticeable on 8 1/2 x 11.
I remember reading a bulletin somewhere about a service mode that increases the time between sheets to overcome this problem but can't find it anywhere.
    Can anyone help please.

Whats the weight on the card stock your using.
If you go into service mode you can try to make som adjustments.
    Copier/Option/Body
Use it to correct color displacement on heavy paper
    0: Normal operation
1: At the point where the paper passes over the secondary transfer roller, the next image is started to be created.
    Reference: negative effects of '1'
    - the productivity for heavy paper will drop (to about 1/3)

    Hope this helps.

Increase the fixing speed for heavy media with service mode level 2 COPIER>OPTION>BODY>FX-SPEED2 (the larger the value the faster the fixing speed).

      Level 2 > COPIER > OPTION > BODY > REG-SPD2 (Heavy Paper)

REG-SPD2 was adjusted down to -4. The setting range is from -5 to +5 (the more positive the faster the registration speed).

your firmware must be a least v79.01 for this setting above

Thanks for the reply. I tried a bunch of different weights all of them within the specs. This sounds like the service mode I was looking for but which setting under copier/option/body do I use.
Is it in level 1 or 2

I believe there was an option called Color Shift, or CLR-SHFT or something like that. So that image creation (prim. transfer) on the ITB doesn;t start before the current page has left the Sec. transfer stage.

Maybe disabling FXLPSW2 (fixing arching procedure on/off) will help + FX-SPD2 to make the fixing run at the same speed as ITB all the time.

if the poster follows Level 2 > COPIER > OPTION > BODY > REG-SPD2 (Heavy Paper)

it will help on single feed HEAVY PAPER from Manual Feed Tray/ just as long as it is single feed and paper weight for MF is not exceeded

He can try all of these options and lets see what he comes up with.

Level 2....Make sure that the external secondary transfer roll turns freely...i've seen this cause color misregistration problems on 3200's if stiff...pop it out and clean the end shafts and inside contacts. It may rotate freely with the fixing drawer out but when its loaded with drawer closed and operating it may drag. If the machine ran the stock before with no issues then tweaking in service mode may help, but something isn't right.
