What scan motor are you talking about. Are you talking about the motor the drives CIS.

Does it attempt to move at all.

Check the wiring between the IP PCB and the scanner motor. There is a harness that runs from the scanner motor to the IP PCB.
        Check for damage.

This problem can be caused when the Reader Motor, M2, does not turn on. First try reseating the connector, J310, then check for voltage. Pins 1,2,3,&4 will all output 3.5v when the Reader Motor is activated. If the voltage is present, suspect bad wiring or motor, M2. If the voltages are not present, the IP PCB is likely causing the problem.

        Check out the 2 attachments.

Is this the cable that you replaced?

Sounds like you've invested a lot of time and effort on an old machine that origionally retailed years ago for only $599. I would advise the customer that maybe it would be a better investment of their $$$$ to buy a new machine rather than spend $$$$ on servicing this one.
