    [Misc] Adv 5045

I had a call for an irad 5045-noise. The machine operates normally and sounds normal during copy/print runs. The only time you hear the noise is when the machine is idle for a period, or when the right hand side doorsd are open and closed. With the back right side cover off (hiding the n/work cable) you can see the fuser drive motor turning at a slower speed for a few seconds. During a run that same motor turns at a faster rpm.
Seems as though 3 things could be at play-motor/gear assembly/fuser.
Has anybody encountered this? The machine has a low count-sent out recently.
I'm aware of some itb noise issues, this seems different.

FYI-Recently had a side paper deck arrive with flat sep rollers-causing jams after only a few days in field. If you are doing new setups with a side deck, you may want to check that.
    Thanks guys!

The noise is probably coming from the fixing film. I spoke with engineering from Canon headquarters about this a couple of months ago. They said that there were not aware any noises. I replaced the film unit and it'd resolved the noise. I got back to canon about it, and now there aware of it. There's not too many cases though.

Thanks! That was were I was leaning. I guess when you replace the film you need to replace the leaf springs holding the blade as well?

These films are expensive. They gave us special lube for inside the film. Works for about 15k, but cheaper than a new film.

Just the fixing film unit. DO NOT REMOVE THE CONNECTORS FROM THE FIXING FILM UNIT. Just put in as you take it out the box.
