I've read that too. I haven't seen any benefit either. Consider though, that most manufacturers recommend cleaning covers with dry lint-free cloth or water. Whoever wrote that spec never tried to actually clean a cover. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'm going to use the red rough polish with alcohol along with replacing the cleaning blade. I'll keep you posted

I clean the ends with kwik solv or rubber rejuv to get all the heavy build up off it and then I ues putz to clean the surface of the drum with the soaked in alchohol. I then buff and clean the drum with windex which helps get any ozone build up off the surface of the drum. It usually takes me about 30 - 35 minutes to clean a drum.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
