    So replace the ITB, clean the ITB Assy, esspecially the drive roller with rubber cleaner and don;t forget the sec. Transfer rollers bushings.

    Then finaly bend the ITB cover so that is rests a few mm lower.

    Imho i think this is the best solution, the cover mod sucks.
    that's right

        Better fix-
        Take those metal plates and throw them in the Garbage

        they are useless/ am testing this theory at an in-house account on 14 iR5185's {same model as your 5151}
        no CQ issues in past 3weeks with heavy color volume

          teckat, I thought about tossing them too. Let us know if any negative effects show up. I'm going to start removing them, those ITB belts are expensive.

            will let u know,
            the main purpose of plates was dissipate charges that build up on ITB unit through that varistor, we all know this does not work

            The large metal plate is the biggest cause/ I have 4 of the printers with the small plate left on to test/ the other 10 I have all plates off/ Leave on the Varistor as shown below

            Remember keep the
            varistor on ITB with those two metal screws- screwed back in to position on plastic ITB frame
