The message Reset Unit 1 appears after the imageRUNNER boots up. This message can be caused when the imageRUNNER is unable to see the Fixing / Feeding Frame assembly. You should check the connectors for the Fixing / Feeding Frame and also the wiring between the connectors on the rear frame and the DC Controller. Sometimes the pins can become damaged or paper can get lodged inside of the connectors. If the connectors and the wiring are ok, the DC Controller may need to be replaced.

    You check this first.

Sorry, I know it was an old post. But I still having trouble with it.
Already check the connector, replace DC. Check Wiring, switch behind the handle.

        Still Reset Unit 1.
Help me. 2 machine with this problem.

Another confirmation here of listening to what teckat and Screwtape have said.

This issue is almost always with a dodgy connector on the back of the fixing/feeder frame assembly.
You can sometimes find removing the screws from the connector assembly at the rear of the fuser (right side connector looking at pic 2 in teckats photos) and packing it out with a couple of washers behind it before screwing back in place. This will make the connector fit more securely into the rear connector in the back of the machine. Do this if the problem is a bit intermittent rather than a constant indication.

But whatever you find it will be poor wiring or connector between the fixing/feeder frame unit & the DC Controller. I've never had to replace the DC Cont to fix it yet.

Had this exact fault a few weeks ago. It turned out to be the small micro switch that detects the unit 1 handle is in the home position, simply bend the switch arm so it makes better contact or replace the switch.

This is the first thing i did to make sure that switch is fine.

You metered the switch? For continuity? Is there voltage at the switch? Have changed a few switches on these

                        I Found it.

It was sub thermistor. Broken wires inthe connector.

                        Thanks for all replies.
