    E014

I having trouble with an E014 on an ir5055.
Another tech was called out for an E025 and replaced the DC-Controller. Now it is getting an E014. I tried flashing the firmware, reseating connectors, cutting wireties, and replacing the bearings and fuser rollers since the UFR was due anyway. Motor turns and it comes to ready but paper stops before reg. and throws the code. I ordered the motor, but can't help thinking it's something simple we've overlooked. Any ideas?

Fixing motor error. Check the lower roller and bearings. You said you replaced the ufr but what about the lower one.

That's a good place to start. I've had to replace the lower roller bearings that froze up causing this code. The part # for those bearings is XG9-0636-000

Also check that the door switch to make sure it is being actuated fully. You may need to adjust the door magnet. Any problem with the door switch or wiring to the door interlock can throw this code.

There is a newer type lower roller that comes with the lower bearings attached in one unit.

Thanks for the fast replies. I guess it would have helped to mention I replaced the LFR Assy as well as the UFR/bushing/bearing. I almost put in the LFR assy for the 5570 but caught it before i put it in.
The front gear on the UFR didn't seem right to me but when I got it all together everything turned freely. The motor turns in low and normal speed.

I'll check the door interlock too.

You seemed to have covered all the normal bases.

One bit of strangeness I have had with a 5055 is a small scrap of paper caught in the unit 1 connector block on the chassis side causing E014. Didn't see it until I had removed the block. I presume the bad connection was causing the motor to turn slowly.

check your front door switch and the wiring for SW2, could also be the DC power supply.
