LC 2050 replace cartridge message won't clear

When I arrive paper jam message in display.Customer had jam in fuser. Removed cover and fuser unit and removed jam. Reinstalled fuser cover and machine cover. "replace cartridge" in display. Put in new cartridge but same message. Check that micro switch is being activated when adf cover is closed. Connector is connected. Any help is appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

is this an OEM cartridge ?? generic or re-manufactured cartridges will pop false message.
Check for the 3 tabs for bias along the side.

I noted that the new cartridge was a generic which had the IKON label. I believe the one that was already in machine when message first came up was also IKON. Evidently it had been working prior to paper jam problem.Frank

Its a goofy microswitch...only closed when cover is closed and cartridge inserted. Jump(short) across the switch..If the message goes away either you have a bad switch or it is not being fully actuated properly by the cartridge or the door

That is what I was thinking but I never shorted the switch. Somehow it may have blown while I disassembled and reassembled machine. I did nor realize it until afterward but machine was powered on while I was working on it. I didn't notice it until I had it apart already. I thought it might be switch or board as it was too coincidental to have jam in fuser and then the replace cartridge problem simultaneously. Frank
