If im not wrong, Press the User Mode Key then 2 & 8 together then User Mode Key again.
    1) Select FUNCTION>CLEAR in service mode.
    2) Press 'ERR' to highlight.
    3) Press the OK key, and turn on and off the rear power switch manually; then, turn
on the control panel soft switch to clear the E code.

      E240

The communication between the DCcontroller PCB and the reader controller PCB is faulty.
=The DPPRDY signal is not sent for0.25 sec or more from the reader controller to the DC
controller PCB after the DC controller PCB is supplied with power

      • The communication between the DC controller PCB and the PS/PCL board or between the reader controller PCB and the PS/PCL board is faulty.
=The signals between the PS/PCL board and the DC controller PCB or between the PS/PCL board and the reader controller PCB cannot be exchanged for a specific time after the PS/PCL board is supplied with power.

        You're wrong>
        CP660 SERVICE MODE
To start service mode, turn on the printer unit while holding on the “Menu key,
Enter/Online key, and Cancel key” on the control panel at the same time until “Start
SELF-TEST” displays. The panel display will show “DISPLAY” to indicate that service
mode has started after the printer unit checks itself.

The modes discussed herein are effective when the printer board (PS/PCL) is installed, and may be started on the control panel of the printer unit.
If the reader unit is installed, service mode must be started by operating on the control panel of the Reader Unit.
See the Reader Unit Service Manual.

you should never clear an ERROR unless you investigate the cause ,
            it will eventually return !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u must be an End User/ a tech would never Clear Error without a Search first.

              hello Teckat

You are wrong. Ive been reseting hundreds of error code during the time at any tipe of copier and i think you have made the same. At least one fuser error code must be.
I think i am very lucky for most of them never return.

sorry to say this but, you are a foolish person.
do you even know how to describe the reason why an ERROR CODE appears on a printer,
or the Function of having an ERROR.

Companies don't have to have Errors programed in to their products, there is no written Law.
They do so to protect Consumers like you from causing damage.

You are like the customer who, on a NP400 was pissed off about the power switch tripping off, he went and tapped down the switch- plugged in machine to force it on, left the office & returned to see the Power switch Melted to the Frame

It was not an argument, I was stating a FACT, If you understood the Copy Process,
u would not have made that statement.

You are lucky that ERROR code was only for a miss-communication signal !!!!

let's clear it up ! I've asked a simple question, i've received a simple answer from Wil, and the problem was solved. Guess why? Because i knew exactly why the code appear. Could you imagine that ? I think it's time to complete this stupid discussion.
