    IR3320i with issues...

    Hi,
Have a IR3320i doing some strange crap.. lol

    umm...

if you unplug any of the cables from the ADF or image reader, the copier doesnt care...

if you open the adf lid, the copier doesnt care..

when you turn the copier on, the adf pickup roller doesnt lift..

if you push a piece of paper past the adf pickup roller, it registers the paper is there (light on the adf comes on) but then if u press copy, the copier says its jammed in the adf.. which means you have to restart the copier as it doesnt know you have opened the adf lid.. lol

NOW... i started with swapping all the boards in the adf/image reader.. with no change..

THEN i tried changing the complete ADF/image reader from another working copier.. with no change...

What would you suggest be the next step?? was thinking power supply issues... or main controller... or swap their copier lol..

I'd start with the power supply to the adf

      What jamcode?

If you changed the adf and NOT the whole scanner, there might be a good change that one of the 2 photo interuptors in the scannerunit that are activated by the small unit at the left-top- rearside of the scanner (the small handle that is activated when the adf is opened-closed) is defect. Try to swap them with other similar photo interruptors in the machine. Try to figure out what happens in i-o mode of copier. Maybe that will help to come to the right conclusion.

If the copier did not care, how did it recognize your paper test ???

check your control panel for damaged or stuck keys- it can cause this symptom
Remove/check/clean DIMM ends on the Main Controller/ or Swap them from similar printer

Had this problem in the pass after a machine had a rough ride to it's new home. Problem was a stuck sensor in the back of the feeder. Easiest answer switch out feeder with working unit. Failing that opening adf and finding jammed optical sensor. Has this unit been moved or mis treated of late?
