    IR2200 with E014 errors

    Have a IR2200 with constant E014 errors.

    So far have done:
    • Removed fuser and check for tight spots. Feels ok
    • Removed Cleaning Assy and ran machine. Still has error.
    • Taken front cover off. Fuser motor spins when machine turned on. Also spins when carry out part check on motor.
    • Pushed and pulled cables on DC Controller and Main Controller. No signs of fault on boards.
Waiting until have another machine that can pull parts out. Will try another fuser, fuser motor, dc controller and main power supply. Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks

Will let you know how I go.

    1. Check the fixing unit for binds
-There may be a bind in the fixing unit that impedes the movement of the fixing motor.
    2. Check the fixing motor connector
-Is the connector of the fixing motor connected?
    -NO: Connect the connector.
    3. Check the Main power supply PCB (also known as the Switching Regulator)
-Is the drive voltage (24VDC) of the fixing motor supplied by the main power supply PCB present?
-The Main power supply PCB (also known as the Switching Regulator) can be checked by checking for 24VDC on J202-3 (24VU1-S) and J202-4 (OVU1).
-NO 24VDC: Replace the main power supply PCB.
    4. Check the Fixing motor (M4) and DC controller PCB
-Press the Start key. Is the lock signal of the fixing motor present at the connector (J312) on the DC controller PCB?
-Lock signal: J312-B4 (FSRM_LOCK*) Does the signal from the DC controller PCB change from 0 to about 5 V when the Start key is pressed?
    -YES: Replace the fixing motor.
-NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

You are on the right track: E014 = fixing/fuser motor SPEED ERROR. Indicates that the FIXING MOTOR DRIVE LOCK SIGNAL cannot be detected within 1.3 seconds after the fixing motor drive signal is generated.
Since u saw the motor spin when machine is turned on,this means:1) The motor drive signal is generated by the dc controller and 2) The 24V dc is output from the power supply.
This leaves us with one 'culprit': The FIXING MOTOR DRIVE LOCK SIGNAL. This is also generated by the dc controller, when the rotation of the fixing motor reaches a specific SPEED.( signal state ,0 ).
POSSIBILITIES: Either;1) this DRIVE LOCK signal is NOT being generated by the dc controller and therefore its presence NOT being detected, OR 2) A faulty motor is '' chewing-up " the generated signal. I would Suggest you substitute the motor first and see IF THAT SOLVES THE PROBLEM ,then move on to the dc controller. OFCOURSE, it could also be some physical mechanical failure associated with that particular function.

        Update

        Have swapped out
        - fuser motor
        - fuser
        - main power supply
        - accessory power supply
        - composite power supply

After all that error is still there.

        Dc controller it might be

You are almost 'there' ! You have systematically narrowed down the fault to a particular functional block.
Just as a 'reminder' before u substitute the DC CONTROLLER, thoroughly check all the wire connections & CONTACTS to that board and ensure that they are in order; some poor contacts
could be causing problems. keep us informed of your progress on the machine so that we also can learn.

sorry for late reply but problem was DC Controller. Installed another DC COntroller and error has gone. Very happy with that. Thanks
