    [CQ] Canon ir3380

Thanks again for all the assistance given here at copytechnet.

Have any one ever had this issue.

On a canon ir3380 I have a tick black patch about two to three inches wide on all copies whether it is internal using the pg test or from the copy board glass and add.

I have checked for obstruction from laser unit to drum unit but have seen none this however only have on the left side of copies.

If I do a pg64 gradations test if comes out on the black ink side only.

I have checked and changed the drum but nothing.

    Any suggestions would be helpful

No the patch does not move on subsequent copies, I took a few pis on my phone but for some reason the pics do not want to leave the phone.

From my observations and test it would appear as if there is an object between the laser unit and the passage to the drum unit but I am unable to find anything.

I check the shutter for the black laser light as this is where the problem exist only on the black.

Here is an update as promised. I was able to remove the black laser shutter window, and tested the machine and it is now copying fine.

I further examined the shutter window for kinks and bends but found none, it was as straight as an arrow.

I think it probably was getting snagged on something, that was check none found, something is taking place, and I will find out why.

              Thanks in advance
