DR 2020 U Scan lock error

    Hi Guys

Ive got three of these buggers giving me this error when scanning. The scanner lock mechanism is mechanical and is set to the off position. Ive checked all mechanical operations and found no problem. Please shout if anybody has had this problem.

Do you have error when scanning or you can't scan at all?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

The scanner powers up fine. As soon as you instruct the machine to scan. The scanner moves 20 cm and the error appears on pc screan and display on scanner. The scanner does find home position at power on,but I cannot see any other sensing mechanism that checks the scanner unit.

      Thanx

test to a service laptop to eliminate the scanner as a cause.
There have been reports of this error occurring on workstations running certain antivirus software.

          Hi Teckat

Tried with my work labtop and workshop PC . Same problem. The problem is scanner related. Ive checked extranet and their is no bulletins. By the way i have 5 of these buggers doing the same thing. What I have found from field technicians is that swiching of and on sometimes sorts out the problem. My thinking is firmware. The problem with these machines is that the replacing boards will render the machine uneconomical to repair.
