    [Dead] iRC 624: waiting....

    Hi!

We have one iRC 624, which doesn't work at all. When powered on, the device stays in waiting... -state. I've changed the "controller card" from side of the device, but it still keeps telling the same message. The controller card is a working one; it has been tested in other device. Is the controller card interchangeable? The device has been unused for quite a long time, could fixing unit cause this?

Actually this is just a plain printer unit. Same which is in CP-660, but without the scanner unit. I also suspect that the fixing unit is bad, since the device has been unused for about 1-2 years.

So, am I right with my thoughts? Are there any other known issues which might cause this symptom?

            -Service Mode: *28*

            -Fuser Count Reset Mode: 1001

Fuser count reset mode is used when the fixing assembly is replaced. It may therefore be used either by
the user or by the service person. Specifically, it is used to reset the fixing assembly counter after
replacement, as when it has reached the end of its life.

Check also Level 1 Items of Service Mode:

DISPLAY/MISC: indicates the environmental conditions and a warning, if they are out of scope
            for guaranteed operation.

TEST: executes various mechanical tests prepared as part of service mode of the
            engine being in use.

Thanks. But as I said, this is just plain printer, so there's no scanner unit. Printer itself has a screen and few buttons for moving at the menu. I guess I'll be checking out the fuser when I have spare time.

I'll check the fixing unit. Thanks for replying.

This model is old, but I want to fix it, since one of our customers has a CP660, and its printer unit has some bigger problems. They don't want to buy a new advance, so the salesman is offering them a "printer upgrade".
