    irc4080 repeating image.

    G'day,

I have the irc4080 which had a new black drum unit about 1-2 weeks ago. Now its repeating the image in the NON feed direction.

When printing in black mode A4LEF, everything is ok.

When printing in colour A4LEF the black image is shifted 2-3mm toward the top of the page (the short edge). It is only occurring toward the rear of the print. Also still puts black where it is meant to. All other colours are where they should be laid.

I haven't seen this problem before so any advice is very welcome.

    Cheers all
    Jonezy.

Try swapping the two Sub PDRM-EF-A pcb's. If the problem moves from one color to another replace the failing Sub PDRM-EF-A pcb.

Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

            Jonezy.

On a (cross feed) direction only issue-

Clear out the Registration Data stored in the DC Controller.
To clear the data, perform the following.

            Enter Service Mode:
            in Level 2
            > Copier > Function > Clear > Reg/Clear.
            Highlight Reg/Clear and press OK.
After performing the clear, reboot the machine and perform a Gradation Quick Adjust and then a Full Gradation adjust.

****Following the instructions above could prevent you from having to perform a DC-CON clear, and inputting all DC-CON values from the door label.

If I read the description of the error properly it sounds like a black laser issue.

Thank you all very much. Teckat, you are the man.

Performed REG/CLEAR and graduation adjust. Cured the initial problem. Graduation charts were just a little out. Clean of the transfer belt unit and machine is back in spec.

                  Cheers again,
                  Jonezy.
