I can not locate the seperation flappers in my feeder. That may be my problem since they make up the majority of my error codes. I assume they would be on the cover that pulls open.... Can someone tell if they are present in the 3rd pic? or let me know the correct place to look.

If you raise the black guide, you'll see a gold-ish metal frame piece crossways with the separation belts over the top. On that frame piece there are two small ears for each flapper to flex into. The flappers are quite odd looking. If I remember correctly, the one on the front is white, and the rear is black. They fit over the lower belts like a comb, and have a foam piece on each tine with a rubber skin over the foam. Usually the skin wears through or snags, and the paper catches on it.
Sorry no cool pictures. Hey, lift the black guide, and post the snapshot. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I looked up a picture of the part on Prec roller but I dont see any flappers, white or black. Unless they are hidden deeper. Are they what the belts are around?

I'm pretty sure they are gone. When you raise the outer sets of belts you would have seen the flappers. I can just make out the metal ears I was referring to, and there's nothing there (marked with diagonal lines). If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

there's an easy way to verify whether the belts are your problem...
put the machine in service mode (*28*), go to Feeder>Function>Upper Belt Clean and press ok - this will make the whole sep assembly start rotating.
then lift the df lid and jump the 2 interlocks (1 microswitch,1 photointerrupter). put your finger on the rotating ribbed belts - do they slow or stop rotating with the roller when you press your finger against them? if so, then the belts are stretched and that's your problem.
and of course, logonjim is correct - it's much easier to replace the assembly, it just costs more.Comment

I thank everyone again!
Blackcat, I cleaned most of the rollers i could get at.
Hanna, I successfully cut, trimmed and superglued the rubber back in place. I actually moved the half of rubber that was not used over and glued the rubber back on the side where it acts more as a spacer ad doesnt really get any action.
All in all, it worked flawlessly when I was through. A local accountant purchased it last evening for $1,000. She had planned to get a maintenance contract with Ikon so I advised a rebuild of the feeder before tax season.Comment
