Go into service mode (*, 2_8, *) choose function , Install , Init 4. This will set values for all 4 concentrations. For only 1 color choose Init-y or m,c,k as needed.

Thanks. I have tried that, but it still gives me the error code E020 0440. I think a sensor must be bad, no?

Machine has a range of acceptable values , your concentration may be out of the acceptable range because of improper concentration or a bad sensor. 04 is for Black so I would clean the Black toner sensor first, as this commonly gets dirty. It's mounted on a rail below the drum (about 7 oclock) behind the toner hopper, 1 screw, wiring harness running from above. Just dry wipe and slide back in. May need to do an init-k after as you tried initializing with dirty sensor.Changing the developer mix would be the best way to go but cleaning this sensor regularily will keep you going.

Your information is VERY helpful, thanks. However, I did all of that and now I get an error code 0180 (that's magenta, right?)

did you do a stir before doing the init? This is mandatory...and your xx80 error...thats a dirty window on toner concentration sensor..clean it
