[CQ] Email scans and DPI quality settings. Stripped output on 200 dpi

I was plaaying with a new set up, its a 3570 and when testing the email I noticed a stripped small dot pattern all over a failed send report. Once I got it configured the scan would show up at the computer with the same stripes. I looked real close at the 200dpi setting on the copier main screen and the graphic there seemed to mimic stripes through the font! I have never seen this before! Copys were great, no sign of this effect.

Solution: make standard send settings 300 dpi and the effect is gone. Nice clean scan.

I've got a theory of a sort. If it works out will depend on which way the Windows test pattern was printed, and which way the resulting print was scanned.

If the Windows test pattern was printed in the letter-R direction, perhaps the scanner may be emphasizing a subtle pattern in the printed pixels. If you rotate the original 90 degrees then scan, do you still get the same pattern? My guess is no. And if you were to take a different type of original like a magazine page, do you get the same pattern? Again, my guess is no.

Have you ever noticed what happens when you print a fine half-tone image, then copy the print again from the glass. Frequently you get an unintended moire' pattern in resulting copy. I'm thinking it's something like that.

you got it/ known issue

When scanning into email or a mailbox, set the machine to text/photo and use 400 dpi or higher. If the file size at 400 dpi or higher is too large, make sure scanning is done in PDF format.
Adobe Acrobat can then be used to compress the file to make it smaller.

thanks Sirs , The scans and copys were all done LTR. Blackcat I havent noticed anything else.
