Post Script and CorelDraw font issue

    Running Canon 2620
Apologies if this shouldn't be posted here.
Now using Post Script driver with good colour matching.
Using CorelDraw X5 sp 3 and all my fonts print out really heavy on the black, they almost look Bold. Have tried all settings. All print fine in other applications.
Has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks,
    Ralph.

Re: Post Script and CorelDraw font issue

Does this occur when you're printing in color, but not monochrome?

Color prints create black using Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and a little Black toner, also referred to as composite black.
Monochrome prints create black using Black toner only.

I think that you're noticing that composite black produces a much thicker layer of toner on the page than monochrome black. I'm not sure that you can do anything much about this. Let's see if one of the Canon guys has an opinion on this. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Hi,
      Thanks for the reply.
Yes it also does it in both colour and mono, also with text only, even though I set the text to only be comprised of black(K), this happens whether using the cmyk or rgb pallate colours.
Selecting plain or heavy stock also makes no difference.
My thoughts are that it's related to the CorelDraw x5 application not dealing with Post Scipt accurately.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

No one I know likes to work with accounts that use Coreldraw.
        I hear it causes problems.

          Hi folks,
Been helped to find the answer.
Had to do with my ignorance on colour management.

Resolve was to apply these settings.
          1. Primary Color Mode : CMYK
          2. Rendering Intent : Perceptual
          3. Color Engine : LCMS

          Now all's printing fine.
Thanks for all the replies and willingness to help. Much appreciated,
          Ralph.
