    [CQ] Irc5185

Customer has been using another service provider but they have parted ways. Wants me to check out this machine. Dont do alot of color, but some. The prints seem too bold, which is causing some shadowing around images/ text. Copying looks ok. Never calibrated a fiery and wandering ifi can use grayscale chart. Have read up somewhat about how to do it under printer screen. Anyy pointers? Thanks!!

Possible to post samples of the shadowing text? I might be wrong but if using PCL printer driver, try to look for a settings known as "Gray compensation" to enable.

Which Fiery is it attached with? H1 (rear-mounted) or the GX100 (External tower-based)

Its an h1. Dont notice it so much today. I am onsite, the biggest problem now is that the image is bleeding toward trailing edge, heavy stock 11x17. LTR is fine. More like smearing or dragging. Actually ink looking......

Ok, then drop my suggestion of gray compensation. Since it print on heavy stock, has the printer's settings for heavy paper specific before you submit the print jobs?

is it smearing on 11x17 plain stock?
Could be ITB guides, cleaner blade failing, heavy paper kicking up when passing the fuser into the vertical feed path.
What are the specs on the paper?
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
