Is it consistent every time at the same spots or random? Does it do it when printing and copying from different sources?

Have seen similar things in that family but not exactly the same as yours.

Recommended things to check, start with the easiest:
        1. is it on a carpet
        2. is the electrical sufficient and properly grounded
        3. have you cleaned or replaced the coronas
        4. how old is the developing unit/when was it last changed
        5. when was the last time the drum blade was replaced (i think they're good for like half a million then you flip them)
        6. other thoughts, power board bad laser near death

Seen these issues before in same family but I never got to the bottom of it before replacing since newer machines were cheaper than parts but I'd bet the problem lies in the above.

It's a lot of potential areas to check and I wouldn't just go buy new parts, you want to try and hone in on the problem, although it can be a b*tch at times.

teckat, blackcat, or charm do canons more i think so maybe they can offer better advice.

Good luck and let us know of further developments.

          HOW MANY COPIES ON M/C?
is it on letter paper too?
looks like a flat spot on some roller, or a gear issue, some hesitation along the path.
stop m/c see if it shows up before the fuser
lower fuser roller, reg roller maybe
