    [Electrical] Device Wiring

    Can someone please shad so light on something i was asked by a canon field support engineer
    He asked me what colour wire was what
    I know that the black and white is mains live and neutral
    But what is the 5v 12v 24v etc colours
    Was what on a Adv 5051 when i was asked this
    Also what are all the blue ones on most of the connector

    Know I should know this, but having a DOH moment

    Somebody correct me If my memory is slipping:

    5vdc: orange
    12vdc: blue
    24vdc: red

    ... and the other 12 million signal lines purple, purple, and purple. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      too add---

      3.3 Volts DC have pink wires
      5 Volts DC have brown wires
      12 Volts DC have orange wires
      24 Volts DC have red wires

        older models had a colour code
        on advance the whole wiring harness is pink or blue regardless of voltage or signal.
        5570 had a whole lot of yellow harnesses.

          Don't u just love CANON

          Reason they eliminated Color code/
          Early NP and Color printer Circuit Diagrams with the Wire Color Codes were being lost/sold/or stolen
          I know techs that were fired in the eighty's for loosing those manuals.
