SWAP the Salt unit or replace it
If the salt unit is the long glass looking thing, I replace it. If it's not, can you tell me where the salt unit is?
Also I really appreciate your help, if I can't get this copier going, I will have to go out of business after 22 years.

long glass looking thing is called -the Dust Proof Glass/which sits over drum
the salt unit has wire connectors attached/ u mentioned that u have done numerous developer changes on this model> yet u have no knowledge about the most important unit that takes the readings> and needs a cleaning of toner off it's sheet well-
1-last time u replaced a drum ???
2-last time u replaced primary wire and grid plate
all contribute to e020 errors
if your business is this important > why don't u place a service call for a trained Canon tech ??
I don't have any ideas why> when u press stir the unit will not rotate
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

1-last time u replaced a drum - 1 year ago
2-last time u replaced primary wire and grid plate - 1 year ago. If the corona and grid plate was switch to another color, wouldn't the code travel with it if that was the problem?
I call the local canon dealer and they said that they don't work on that class of copier anymore. When changed the developer last time, I drained the old developer out and poured the new developer in went into service mode to func-install-init-stir. And then turned the power switch off and then on. It has worked for the last several years. I have replaced almost everything that has to do with the yellow unit except the salt sensor. When I figure out where it is, I will replace that to,

ALSO--Check for a blown 5v breaker on the DC controller. The breaker is located next to connector J2201 on the DC Controller.
I recognize that part. I will change it on Monday. It seems like I have done this before. I have really bad memory and have to re-learn thing I've done a hundred times.

Never power off/on the printer after u do the SUPPLY of developer/
this will cause the SALT sensor reading numbers out of wack> because on power up the readings from the developer are not setfrom the Salt Sensor>
( when the Salt Shutter opens and exposes the window it will receive low readings from the patch on bed> resulting in e020 code) this error will prevent a stir & init)

I read somewhere that a bad hopper motor could cause this problem. If true, can you guy tell me where the hopper motor is? I have a clc 2400 parts machine so I shoild have another hopper motor. Thanks Robert.

Changed the salt sensor - no change, still can't initialize or stir the yellow. Any other suggestions?
Hopper motor is not involved in STIR & INIT-
THE YELLOW DEVELOPER has enough toner included in the bottle to get a accurate reading/with out dropping down the hopper
I had 30 CLC's2400/3100/5000's to deal with in one building as an in-house tech/ I never released the Lens Shutters & dropped down the hopper to do the STIR & INIT as listed in manual--
1-power off printer
2-open front doors
3-key up printer with doors open/power up printer
4-release hopper outward> before lift >key in both lens shutters> then lift to upward position
5-try a short STIR for M-C-K> then stop for each> if OK !
6-U say when u select STIR for Yellow nothing happens > no rotation at all > then error code 01F1
7-I would pull off back cover on printer to inspect >the Developing motor drive system>& connectors> YELLOW DEVELOPER DRIVE MOTOR
before u do this> release and hold hopper a little outward>remove lens keys and drop down> power off printer
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
