Re: Canon clc 3100 error code E020 1F1 Help PLEASE
Called the laser shutter opening tools/ some techs call them keys or plates
keys.JPG
Lens keys are the two small metal plates that u use to lock open the lens shutters before u lift up the hopper to it's final position
I thought u did many developer changes ??????????????
did u test the STIR for the other colors ?????????
if STIR works for other colors and not YELLOW u have a connection/signal issue/**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon clc 3100 error code E020 1F1 Help PLEASE
I hope u are talking about a CLC3100 PRINTER
how are u operating the printer during a developer change without closing both lens shutters ??
there is no way to do a developer change without doing this procedure before u lift up the hopper to it's final position
You can not even do a RECEIVE (empty toner) or a SUPPLY of developer without closing the lens shutters
Please explain how u did a Developer change in the past> without using something to close those Lens shutters--
if u can't explain> I am sorry but this may come to an end- Another poster sent u a MANUAL> download it and read it / and good luck**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Check your PM for a gift>SM
Here is the correct procedure for a developer change for the CLC1000/2400/3100 series
click on pdf below for download > if u can't find those two small metal plates in the Plastic Supply box inside/front lower area of printer> use paper to wedge the shutter plates closed> also in box there should be the four plastic recovery cups > if missing use a plastic bag over each unit port for receiving old developer(see instructions in pdf)

I don't know what u were doing all this time if u did not know about > Salt sensors or Laser shutters/
just read the information I sent u> and start all over> go by the book !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is no easy fix
I have been doing this a field tech/manager/instructor for over 25yrs.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon clc 3100 error code E020 1F1 Help PLEASE
The copier rip still says "No Toner". Should I take the patch sensor apart and clean it?Comment

Re: Canon clc 3100 error code E020 1F1 Help PLEASE
u never take apart the patch sensor/ u use a soft cloth to clean window/
no toner message on rip window= what color ?
Check the wire harness (FG5-4094-000) from the hopper relay pcb to each of the individual toner hoppers for poor connections or broken wires from tie wraps being too tight.
The Hopper sensors and clutches use the same ground connection. The machine could be losing the ground signal.

This wire harness is no longer available. If the problem is isolated to the harness, it will have to be repaired.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon clc 3100 error code E020 1F1 Help PLEASE
When I changed the patch sensor and put everything back together and powered the copier, I heard a zzzt.. sound and when I pulled up the hopper assembly, I could see where I didn't route the patch sensor wires correctly. When I move them back into place, I was able to power the copier again. Could the wiring harness be the culprit of the E020-01F1 code?Comment
