Hi, any idea where this problem is coming? (see attached image) I have replaced, developing unit, drum unit and transfer roller. This is just an enlarge scan of test pattern 9 so that you can visibly see the problem.

ensure that u use OEM toner, check fixing film rotation, check pressure, check bearing.Learning never ends..

The other responses are spot on... it's a fuser issue. And--- as arielcanon said----never never use generic toner in this model.sigpicAnything can be made to work if you fiddle with it long enough- San Diego Copier Repair.comComment

Wow! am I late to the party. Oh, what the hell ... Fuser!
Does the finished image smudge easily when rubbed? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: ir4570 some kind of smudge on lines
If you fit a genuine Canon fixing film unit you don't need to worry about greese, jamming, smudging, they are much better than the crappy non OEM film, nothing but trouble.
Also remember to replace the heat sink roller, this can cause smudging/jamming etc when it is soiled.Comment

Re: ir4570 some kind of smudge on lines
Use Uniflor: *Tech Aids* UNIFLOR 8172
... and you won't have much luck with cleaning the fixing film. Once it starts collecting toner, it will continue to collect in the same areas again.

Re: ir4570 some kind of smudge on lines
<Cause>
The moisture held in paper evaporates in response to the heat from the fixing assembly, thus causing toner to fly
astray. This problem tends to occur when paper has low resistance and in a high temperature/high humidity
environment.
<Field Remedy>
Use the following service mode item to decrease the developing bias, thus suppressing the symptom:
COPIER>OPTION>BODY>FIX-SMR
0: default
1: decrease the developing bias by a single step (-20 V)
2: decrease the developing bias by 2 steps (-40 V)
If '2' is selected, the lines can become thinner.
