canon clc 1180 - 1012 ( clc 1100 ) error code: E072002 help please

Hi, New to forum - found you guy's with a google search and looking for help please...

I have a canon ( model number on side ) clc 1180 - 1012 which has error code: e072002

I would like to know if this is a easy fix or not.....

E0720002

The motor lock signal
(TRCMLK) is '0' for 1 sec or
more while the transfer drum
cleaner brush motor is
rotating.

Reason : To communicate a procedure to take in dealing with the transfer cleaner motor lock error (E072 -0002)
which can possibly occur as the result of the transfer cleaner relay cable connector pressure terminal
coming into contact with the separation claw drive plate

Details : < Procedure >
When making visits for servicing, attach the edge protection tape to the edge of the separation claw
drive assembly.

<Factory measure>
Edge protection tape has been added to the edge of the separation claw drive assembly.

As my college said try to check the Brush some time paper jams and u cant find it till you left the Transfer cylinder ,i occurs again change the brush it will work

Thanks for prompt replies - i do not know a thing about this clc1180 - all looks very complicated inside - do you think it would be an expensive fix if i called a repairman out..

call a trained service tech on model----there are many things that can cause the TRANSFER DRUM to freeze up/
i know a way to bypass the motor lock signal/ little hard to explain here--
basically u create a short bypass(with a formed U shape paper clip between Transfer drum cleaner
locking motor-pin 3/orange signal wire and Transfer drum cleaner brush motor M8-pin 2/red 24v wire

one good point just posted about paper stuck in between TD cleaning brushes / if u never seen or worked on this model>>>call for HELP

another overlooked issue>>>>>for E072>>Check both sides of all the door switches for voltage. A switch that is failing will drop the supplied voltage 3 to 5 vdc. Replace the switch. Check both SW4 (Left front cover switch) and SW5 (Delivery Cover switch).

this E072-002 issue is a pain in the butt/ u have a printer that is over 10yrs old/

Hi, I am back again with my E072002 problem - i now have a guy who will fit me a: transfer belt cleaning motor - the problem is finding one - does any one know of any suppliers of either new or used parts in the UK for Canon 1180 - thanks in advance...

it's all about the connector !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/ never seen that part # in a 1150 parts book


just remembered something important to check--to add on below/ that transfer frame connector can have a crack/

There is a possibility that the E072-0002 error code can be caused by an accumulation of toner / starter or most likely torn pieces of paper inside the Transfer Frame Connector.

This is a known issue to prevent supply voltages to components --see picture-

u need to remove the transfer frame to fully inspect > Frame side Male connector >& look inside interior to check the interior Female connector--
