    [CQ] IRC 2880i Color Displacement

    Good Day to all,

I have this problem with IRC 2880i with color displacement. I read some post here regarding with this problem and do all they did but the problem still same.

I do the REG/Clear in service 2 and do quick gradation and full gradation with no effect.

I do P/Print and DC con clear and put all the value of laser but still problem.

I replaced the ITB assy with no avail.

I notice one thing that the pattern of displacement is not changing if i do DC con clear and not putting back the value of laser. Same thing when i replaced with new ITB assy the pattern is not changing or all the things that i have done is not changing.

Please see attached PG6 and PG10 for reference.

Any will appreciate all the help.

    Thanks in advance.pg6.jpgpg10.pdf

Did you clean two itb patch sensors and perform gradation again?

    Error code history?

Observe ITB patch pattern.Need to figure it out what is the reason for issue.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

perform an auto color correction mismatch, Enter Additional Functions Adjustments and Cleaning. On page three select auto color mismatch correction.
If Auto color correction mismatch is not an option, be sure to update the firmware to the latest version. To clean the patch sensors manually actuate the solenoid to open the shutters and wipe the sensors with a dry lint free cloth.Below is a photo of the solenoid and shutters that cover the sensors.

Remove the noise dampening pad for the Registration sensor flag
and then performing Reg-Clear, Quick Adjust and then adjusting the IMG-REG should resolved the issue.

The ITB Drive Unit needs checking, by turning the ITB Drive Gear manually.
If the ITB Drive Gear spins free. It is suspected that the ITB Belt was turning; because of the pressure of the turning Drums and not the drive gear.

Replacing the ITB / Drum Drive Assembly (FM2-5520-000) resolves that gear issue.

As you may have already guessed from your PG10 page, your cyan drum is also on the way out!!! I dont have the service manual with me but if all else fails you can try to input your own values to bring the lasers back into alignment but it is fiddley and a bit time consuming.

The culprit is the patch sensor.

            Thanks everyone.
