The machine pauses during copying or printing

    Problem :
When running copies or printing, the machines slows down and cycles for a minute or two before feeding another sheet then pauses again.

    Solution :
Faulty cassette feed driver pcb. During a copy or print job, the select paper screen was monitored and saw the indication for cassette 1 flicker back and forth repeatedly between paper and a load paper message. Tried re-seating the connections on the pcb with no change. Replaced the cassette driver pcb. Part number FM3-7933-000. It is the item circled below.

Also if the main controller is slow, everything is slow.
      You're right.

That appears to describe the exact behaviour! I'm not a Canon engineer, the copier just happens to be where I work but the supplier/supporter is, well, not overly fast in getting the problem sorted!

One has recently started printing and copying extremely slowly, the other is still as it was when first installed. The slow one does speed up a little after a reboot cycle, but is still not as fast as the other - it is literally taking 8-10 minutes to make 30 copies of a one-sided A4 B&W page. Users have no access to settings, I am the only one who has admin access and I've never changed anything since install. Nothing shows up on Google so advice is welcome! Our support company is also a bit stuck at moment and our staff are getting understandably frustrated
See, I told you more info was required.
You should have enough to sort out the problem now - even I picked up a few Tips, Good Luck nry.

Knowing what info to supply was the newbie bit! Fingers crossed this will be sorted soon as our staff are getting rightly frustrated

                Hi!
I didn't took the time to read all the thread but we had this problem here and we fixed it. It was a Fan that was taking too much voltage.... If you want the solution in detail, I can explain it to you. The fact that the fan was taking too much voltage, was making some error reading of the fixing unit.

Eatmorechips is absolutely correct - the grease inside the Fixing Film/Element has dried out, which usually occurs with low volume usage, the Film & Element (if not worn/damaged) can be cleaned with meth - gently push a cloth dampened with meth through the Film & clean all grease from Element, regrease Element & end guides with a high temp white Molycote grease (available from Katun but has a Canon P/no: however does not seem to be available from the latter anymore), probably gives up to 50K before a regrease is required - a cheap alternative for a new Film (also available through Katun), as an OEM Canon Fixing Film Assy is about $500.
