Canon 3570: toner stir motor and blank pages between sheets

    Hey guys,

I have a 3570 that is doing a couple of funny things.

First off, the toner motor runs for a good ten to fifteen minutes when the machine is warming up... even though it is loaded with a brand new bottle of toner.

I'm guessing that this is perhaps a dirty sensor? or an issue with the dev unit? I didn't have a vacuum with me so i was unable to check it out while i was there today.

And second, apparently about a week ago, this machine started spitting out blank pages in between every sheet of printed paper. Copies just fine, it only does this if you print.

Job separator is shut off, everything on the driver looks good... but when i print, it spits out a second page, blank.

Even if i print out a test page, it spits out a blank test page right after.

When i'm back at this location on monday, the first thing i was going to do was uninstall and re install the printer/ driver.

has anybody dealt with similar issues before?

    thanks heaps.

blank pages in between every sheet of printed paper=
Double check your page (paper size) setup on the computer (check both the application that you're using and the printer driver setups & defaults) and make sure they're set for the correct size paper that you have loaded in the printer and the printer paper trays are properly set for the paper size you have loaded and the printer itself is set for the proper paper size for the paper it is printing on.
remove and install Print Drivers /then use drivers from Canon website=/or Main Controller

    toner motor run=Main Controller

Yup, have done all of this except the remove and install print drivers. going to give it a shot on monday.

Toner stir: main controller? I would have thought for sure it would be an issue the dev unit. Is this a common issue with these machines?

Re: Canon 3570: toner stir motor and blank pages between sheets

When a request is made for a supply of toner, the toner cartridge drive motor rotates---

If the "absence of toner inside the sub hopper" is detected while the main motor is rotating, the bottle motor is rotated intermittently (on for 3 sec, off for 2 sec), and the length of time during which the absence is detected is checked using a counter that increases its count for each on-off cycle. When the count reaches 20 (about 100 sec), the machine will assume that the sub hopper has become empty, and will indicate the Add Toner message on its control panel.
The counter is reset when the presence of toner inside the sub hopper is detected during any on-off cycle.

If the "absence of toner inside the developing assembly" is detected while the main motor is rotating and the developing clutch is on, the machine rotates the sub hopper feedscrew motor intermittently (on for 1 sec, off for 1 sec). The rotation is monitored by a counter that increases its count when the developing sensor state is off during a single on-off cycle; when its reading reaches 20 (about 40 sec), the machine will assume that its developing assembly is more or less empty (i.e., there is a possibility of the ongoing generating black prints if printing continues), and will issue a No Toner error, suspending image formation operation. The counter is reset when the presence of toner is detected inside the developing assembly.

I don't know about the toner motor issue, but I've seen the blank sheet thing. I'm pretty sure it was a Canon that had a "separator page" setting in the printer defaults, that put a blank page between each set. I've also seen if when the tray is set to legal size, but is loaded with ltr-R. Each printed page pulls two pages. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Coincided with me this problem and the reason is that the definition of the machine incorrectly
Use (PCL/UFRII) it suitable for models IR3570&4570&6800&5570....

Yeah, i was out first thing this morning to check on this machine, and it ended up being a driver issue, another Canon on the same network had been set up with the same IP address, apparently that conflict was causing both machines to act a little crazy. I found the IT guy responsible, and will scold him appropriately.

Can't figure out this "checking for toner" problem i'm having though.

Brand new toner bottle in machine and a little message that says "toner is low, replacement not yet needed"
                ?

You hear the toner motor but is the bottle spinning? I've had problems with those hoppers. If you cheat toner cover and go to function/part check/motor #5 and see if bottle spins. If not try pulling bottle towards you slightly and see if it spins then. You may have a bad hopper or bad toner cartridge. OEM or compatible?

                      This fixed the problem.

                      Thanks!
