Ir5570 wrong size original detection from platen glass

Anyone know why a 5570 would detect legal when letter , not even letter r, is laid on the glass?

Check if the height of the feeder is incorrect causing the open/close sensors to not be activated.
These sensors detect the open/close position of the cover. If the height is off and these sensors are not actuated properly, the size detection will be incorrect.

also check--Level 2/ Copier/ Option/ Body SENS-CNF = set to "1" = 0: AB (default)
1: inch
Level 1> COPIER>OPTION>BODY>MODEL-SZ > set to "1" =inch (5R4E)

Level 2> COPIER>OPTION>BODY>MODELSZ2.
This setting is used to enable / disable platen board original size detection ( for global support; AB / inch mix ) Check to see if this is set to "1".
If this setting is a "1" it may cause the paper to be misread off the glass.
