To be fair, technically I do still need a screen too, buuuuuuut no point doing that until it's running, ideally I hope to get a test print before I commit to paying for a screen.
While we're on the subject though, I haven't taken control panel apart yet obviously, but it looks to me like it's a generic 4-wire digitizer, anyone know for sure if the non- brand specific jobs on ebay would work?
Firstly MASSIVE thanks to those who have helped me..
When I started looking round for a Boot ROM DIMM I got an offer to strip pretty much whatever boards I wanted for a fixed price, so just to be safe I took the entire main controller box, inc PCBs, DIMMs, HDD (basically all except the Counter PCB, I knew to refit the old one thanks to another of teckat's historic posts!) .. Also got the control panel at a fantastic price from same people.
Copier now boots, got it connected and recognised on network, wonderful things etc etc..
So THANK YOU
Only problem now is.. E000020-01b0 -
1) That's yellow drum, right?
2) Does it only report one at a time? i.e. if I replace yellow is it likely to immediately complain about the next one?
3) Where would you buy from? Best price..?
I know this is sort of a taboo here but given circumstances of this copier (and that I still haven't actually seen a successful test print) I'm game for the cheapest possible option first, does anyone know where I can get refill kit + chip? (It does actually look to be in reasonable condition, so surely I can try to get another use or even half use out of it?)

remaining Drum Life scale indications are a waste of time/
the % Reading Drum Life is more accurate
Canon is dumbfounded when trying to explain this Drum Life/ they have had firmware updates for better readings> that never panned out on these Color iR's/
Canon Works on a 5%/6% ratio w/text coverage on letter paper see attach for what 6% looks like / it's a joke when it comes to Color usage printers-
Old Drums will start to drop toner and cause a mess in printer/ if u want to avoided headaches > change drums on a customers color counter record-
400% on YELLOW DRUM = THAT ERROR CODE u have/ replace it
over 200% u need to change
if fact I would replace all Drums/ they actually deteriorate over time
Yes 400% on yellow is very high!
Can you go back to the place you got the control panel etc from!?
Don't bother with the drum kits, as you only get the drum cylinder, not developer.
However I have swapped drums over to get a machine working.
So you could try swapping the cyan & yellow drum cyliders over (not the complete unit)
