    hi guys and ,well guys,

    have a ira5xxx with insert yellow/magenta drum message - bought so know nothing of history, however checked all obvious - and yes drum drive turning,dev coupling not spinning,encoder clean(have now put working drum,dev etc) any ideas ?

    You need to be a lot clearer with your explanation re the problem.

    Check SRV MODE > COUNTER > LF this will give the Life of your Drum Units - if after market Drum Kits have been installed then there maybe a problem with the Chips which will give the 'Insert Drum' message.

      er,okay - we're a canon dealer so everything is original, as stated before a working print engine has been swapped but same message 'insert drum' drawing blanks at the moment as to what it can be.......

        Symptom
        "Insert Drum Cartridge" message Black, Yellow, Magenta, Cyan appears on the control panel screen. Reseating the drums, drum process kit assembly, ITB unit and clearing the DC Controller had no effect.


        Action
        In this case, replacing the DC Controller resolved the issue.

        Hope this helps.

          We are also the dealer of canon India and myself also face this type of problem in iRC 2550i machine,swapping only the drum solved the problem.
