[Electrical] CANON IR2420 damn message !!

    Hi to all

i've problem with canon ir2420 , displaying (front\left cover open close cover) i've reset it but no result , have too replaced the 2 switchs (front and left door ) but no result i checked the connextion with continuity circuit between the power supply and the 2 switchs it was good , but machine still displaying this message!!!

    there is some ideas!!!!!

    thank you in advance!

Sounds like it could be a bad photointerrupter on one of the doors. I had a similar problem on an IRA c5030.

This may sound stupid, but is the machine level... Is the flag actually breaking the beam path?

what m&an for the beam path! there is just simply switchs! in the front and left cover!

          thank you in advance.

I've just seen machines with door switch problems that were because the machine not being level. The door flexing therefore the actuator on the door does not fully hit the sensor in the machine that you have already changed. Its just a suggestion.

The way a photointerrupter works, is that an LED shines light through a slit across to a photorecepter which changes voltage from low (~0) to high (~5vdc). The flag blocks the beam path so that it does not shine on the photoreceptor ... or it should block the light. The flag may not adequately block the light path, so the sensor does not change state.

I wonder how this will translate?

              Try that:

              Courtesy of Google Translate.

              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.

                continuity circuit
Did u check for correct voltage supply

is the power supply outputting 24VDC out of J12
                .

                NOTE:
If 24VDC is found at J12 on the power supply, check the DOPEN signal at J215, pin 7 on the DC Controller to be sure it changes state.
Open and close the door, to check the signal. If the signal changes state, replace the DC Controller

SW2 /Front cover switch Detects opening/closing of the front cover.
Detects opening/closing of the front cover and cuts off +24 VR.
                Power supply PCB=J12

SW3 /Left door switch Detects opening/closing of the left door.
Detects opening/closing of the left door and cuts off +24 VR.
                Power supply PCB=J12

When the main power switch (SW1) is turned on, AC power is supplied to the low-voltage power supply circuit in the power supply PCB.
                low-voltage power supply circuit supplies +3.3 V, +5 V, and +24 V to operate the machine.

There are two types of +24 V voltages: +24 V which is normally supplied from the low voltage power supply and +24 VR which is cut off when the front cover or the left door is opened.

The +24 VR also plays the role of a door open detection signal (DOPEN).

This signal allows the CPUon the DC controller PCB to detect that the front cover or the left door has opened.

Power Supply PCB is provided with an over-current/over-voltage protection function to automatically cut off the output voltage when a trouble such as a short circuit occurs on in the load.

i found bad resistance ( in the J12 track - power supply ) it displaying just 8 Ωand it's low value!!!!

i replaced new resistance and it is okay now ! thank you very much for all our great Engineers!!ouuoo_10.jpg

I was thinking the same thing, but about 1995...
