    iR5185 sub-scanning color registration shift

We replaced the ITB belt, drive gear, swing plate, did not fix until we went into Sevice Mode 2 and cleared REGIST, performed Gradation Quick, then Full Adjust - perfect pages. Now it is reported the problem is back. Any thoughts? I doubt the pattern reader would be causing this issue but not sure. 1mm shift in colors for paper travel direction. No skew, vertical offset. Have switched with another ITB unit, same issue.

I've had the same issue in the past. For me I did a DC con clear, then re-entered the settings from the P-Print out fault never came back.

Try without Quick Grad then reboot, I have found it needs to be done sometimes 3 or 4 times.

When we went back the images were fine, but samples they had proved it was misbehaving again. Performed Full Gradation Adjust again (4 times for good luck) and instructed end user of adjustment procedure. Crossing fingers for now...thanks for all the replies. Did not do DC-Cont clear yet, don't want to if don't have to.

Remove the itb. Scrub the hard rubber rolls(secondary internal transfer and belt drive roller.) Make sure that the secondary external transfer roll(the one in the fixing drawer) turns freely. Remove it and clean its supports(contacts, etc). If this roll is stiff to turn it will cause itb to slip, causing misreg
