    ====================================
is that iR1133 an imagePress Series model or just a iR1133

was there any work performed on this model before E355-004 ERROR

Try Re-fitting all the harness connections within the control panel assembly

do u see a Language Switch Shortcut Key- on the display ??

Language Switch Shortcut, when enabled, is displayed next to the 'System Monitor' button on the device LCD screen as shown in the image below. It allows users to walk up to the device to quickly and easily switch the LCD display to their desired language. This shortcut can be useful if, for example, the device is located in a hotel's business center where people from all over the world want to access the device.

Configuring the Language Switch Shortcut Key

    1. Go to Additional Functions / Common Settings / Language Switch and the following screen will appear:

    FIGURE 2

    2. Press ON

    3. Select a default language

    4. Select 'Display Shortcut Key' (when this option is selected the button will change from gray to teal in color)

    5. Press OK

II. Using the Language Switch Shortcut Key

When a user wants to change the display language they have to click on the Shortcut Key, as shown in figure 1 above, which will bring them to the 'Language Switch' screen, as shown in figure 2 above. From here they select the desired language by highlighting it from the list and press OK. This will return them to the copier main LCD screen where all buttons and text will be displayed in the selected language.

Thx Teckat. yeah, its just a iR1133 just as in Canon IR1133. it does not have that interface. My buddy and i opened it to the inner board and tried to refit all fibres and other connections, but nothing changed. The fact is that i cannot access the menu/ or service code. Its in Chinese and upside down. Any other alternative? Its as if the control panel buttons are all mute. cant find any button responding or it should first be the service button (*) to respond first? I am puzzled. Please help. thanks.

            ----------------------------------------------
Counter Memory, Serial Number and Main Controller PCBs work as a set and are considered the “Soft Counter Circuit”. The Counter Memory PCB is electronically stamped with the serial number from the Serial Number PCB. Neither the Counter Memory PCB nor the Serial Number PCB can be swapped to other equipment.
The Counter Memory PCB keeps track of the total count, which cannot be erased or changed. The service counters are retained by the Main Controller. These counters can be reset manually through service mode. When the Counter Memory PCB must be replaced, after installing the new one, the new Counter Memory PCB learns the Total Count from the Main Controller. This is retained in SRAM on the Main Controller PCB and held active by means of an on board battery.

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            E355 -
            Cause

Mismatch of serial numbers of three items: Serial Number PCB, Main Controller/ Image Processor PCB (SRAM) and Counter Memory PCB.

            Description
At power-on, a mismatch of serial numbers among the Serial Number PCB, Main Controller / Image processor PCB and Counter
Memory PCB was identified (“Prohibited Action”).

            Action
            1. Put back all original PCBs into the equipment! (Depends on original cause of failure)
            2. Do not utilize a used Counter Memory PCB or Serial Number PCB from any other equipment. (If previously used, select
optional counters 2 through 6 (displayed in “Counter Check”) in service mode:OPTION/USER/COUNTER 2 TO 6
            )
If original problem was E245 or E247, Soft Counters reset to Zero.
            3. Ensure connector J1023 is connected.
After “Prohibited Action” has been corrected, perform “E355 CLR”. (FUNCTION>CLEAR>E355-CLR) then cycle power off and on.
            (For “70” series and later see Note #4. For imageRUNNER 1023/ 1023N/1023iF/ 2016/ 2020/ 2016i/2020i see step # 10 under
            “Servicing”).
            All others, Counters are retained.

Serial Number PCB is a matched board with the Counter Memory PCB and cannot be swapped with any other equipment.
On newer models from Canon (as of this writing, all “70” series and iR3530 series), to clear an E355
or E354 code, you must enter Service Mode Level 3 (see Notes #3 and #4). DO NOT ADJUST ANYTHING ELSE IN THE SERVICE MODE LEVEL! Doing so will have an adverse affect on the machine

            Note #3: E354:
If, after replacing the Counter Memory PCB, an error code E354 is displayed, enter Service Mode Level 3 and perform an E354 Clear as follows:
Additional Functions button then #2/8 buttons together then Additional Functions button
Additional Functions button then #1/9 buttons together then #3 button
            COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>E354-CLR
Turn OFF and then ON the equipment

            Note #4: E355:

If after replacing the Counter Memory PCB, an error code E355 is displayed, enter Service Mode Level 3 and perform an E355 Clear as follows:
Additional Functions button then #2/8 buttons together then Additional Functions button
Additional Functions button then #1/9 buttons together then #3 button
            COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>E355-CLR
Turn OFF and then ON the equipment.

Hey, thanks for your concerned. I am afraid my printer has no IP address. Btw, My copier is a 3in1 (copier, printer & scanner). U suggest i replace the PCB? So how much are we talking about and how many boards do i need to replace to get the machine back on track? I hear a combination of boards need to be bought together. Which ones could these be? How much will it cost me to replace these boards and where is it possible to access them at a fair price? I live in Uganda, East Africa. Thanks.
