IR2525 cannot detect paper at tray 1

hi guys, appreciate ur input.
i have 2 canon ir2525, initial problem is one of the ir cannot detect the tray 1, i have swap the switch, sensors, actuator to no avail.
lastly i swap the board with the working ir, problem still the same.
now, even the second ir also having the same problem, now i have 2 IRs with tray 1 dead.

You need to replace the paper tray feed unit. Sometimes it is the top feed assembly and sometimes the bottom. I don't know what causes it. The feed units are different with different part numbers. I have a lot of these machines.

does the paper lift up when Cassette 1 is Closed)=== re-seat and inspect the connector for the Paper Pick Up Motor (M3).

"If no switch is pushed, it is determined as no cassette." Generally when you depress one of the size sensors it should engage the pickup assembly to lift. If no dice, verify that the tray is not broken (i'm assuming the old paper stuck behind the tray has been checked). Might be worthwhile to try a clear all (after backup of course) and see if it comes back. If not then it's all pointing to the dcon

service mode > # TEST MODE > 2 sens/sw check
cst s1 and s2 should be 0 when paper is detected.
But I'd probably go with just replacing the ppu assy

Question...is the issue not seeing the cassette inserted into the cassette 1 slot or ..not seeing PAPER in the cassette 1(machine detects cassette but empty).Your title says cannot detect paper, but your first sentence says cannot detect tray

if the paper size detection error happens with the top 250-sheet cassette. maybe the problem is in the cassette top arm stopper .

could be the lift motor... could be the activation sensor.

have you run motor and sensor check?

when u remove all paper in tray 1 and select tray 1 to print----do u get message to add paper
