[Misc] Canon iR Advance C5045 fuser knocking noise

    Hi Guys

Got the fuser making knocking noise, as if cannot find the home position.

I have replaced fuser fixing film unit complete wiring loom all sensors on fuser.
    cams are fine.

also tested on another copier doing the same fault

works sometimes for few minutes than knocking noise starts keeps rotating.

    lost for ideas now.

if any one had similar issues any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

you have to take apart all the gears in the fixing assembly and clean off all the grease with alcohol.

Are you using an OEM fixing film unit or compatible?

At the rear of the fuser assembly where you cleaned the grease off those gears, there is a cam shaft with a leaf spring assembly. Remove the leafspring (1 cover and 1 screw iirc) and bend it in to put more pressure on the cam to stop it.

That should fix it. But do make sure you remove all the grease from the cam etc.

              Hi

all gears stripped and cleaned off grease., specially the one where the leaf spring rest on.

leaf spring slightly bend to give more pressure and noise is gone.

              thanks everyone for your input.

              thanks
