    [Misc] A Competing IP Address was found on the Network

    Hi All

    I'm working on a IR Adv C2220 that is giving a message on screen 'A Competing IP Address was found on the Network' after installed New Main Controller PCB 1.

    so i can't able to connect copier in LAN. and Printing working fine from USB.

    If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

      The machine is telling you that there's a dupe (a duplicate IP address on the network). You have two choices:

      1) you can figure out what the other device is trying to share the IP, and change the address. A utility like NetScan will get the MAC address of the device. From the MAC address you can determine the manufacturer of the device (the first 6 digits of the MAC address identify the manufacturer). Here's where it get's more difficult. There may be hundreds of Dell PC's.
      2) you can change the IP of the MFP. You'll also have to change the port on the print drivers to match.

      Typically, the second choice is a whole lot easier to execute. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Far easier to get the MAC address of your copier, go to the DHCP server and reserve an address, then put your copier on that static ip address.

          Job done, or get the IT support dept to sort it out for you

                      So I have the same message on a C2225 that's less than a year old. Customer can print to it, I can ping it but it won't scan to folder. Haven't replaced anything. First service call. Any thoughts?

                          TCP/IPv4 Settings


                          A competing IP address was found on the network.
                          
                          Cause
                          The same IPv4 address that is set to this machine already exists on the same network.
                          Remedy
                          See "TCP/IPv4 Settings" to change the IP address of this machine not to be duplicated with the IP addresses which are set to the other devices.

                              I have canon imagerunner advance 400 and i got massage ' competating ip address was found on the network' can anyone help about this issue please i already tryed all clear machine but still same issue..plz reply me as soon as possible...
