      Adjust the paper buckle amount.
It is skewed at registration causing it to distort as it prints.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

it's the laser-look at how regular the distortion is
however you say you replaced with new or 2nd hand?
i would look at what controls laser next...

No!! Nothing!!! All ok on the buckle!

I don't believe, I have two machines and I don't get to fix it.

Hi Alex, I change the laser with the another machine good, operating.

The problem is intermittent. I made about 2000 copies and back problem.

            I'm crazy!!!

            Any ideas?

            Guilherme.

                Hi Alex,

Yes, the another machine works with the suspect laser normally.

The distortion is very regular, is the same, identical! This is very strange.

That is unusual indeed. Have you tried another DC controller PCB?
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

looks like a laser to me too. had a similar problem years ago, prety sure it turned out to be a laser. I think it was fixable like a lose lens or something like that . I know your not supposed to open those up but sometimes you have to make up your own rules to lead the way

Is this machine a a dedicated outlet, if it is on a Surge protector or sharing an outlet stop that immediately, do you have power problems in the building?

have a volt meter on the line and use the machine and monitor the reading over the use of the machine and see what happens when the problem occur with the power.

do a test print from the engine. not from the optics. Which is lead edge? notice at one end there is almost no problem. only on one side is the problem occurring . Does it do it off the glass or through the doc feeder. In other words did you copy the service manual page through the doc feeder? I certainly would check the optical functions. if it was off the platen and not through the feeder, i would check the scanner to eliminate that. then ccd imaging and rcon. The doc feeder has to communicate with them too. did you upgrade the copier, flash it to the latest version and forget to upgrade the dcon and rcon chips? Oh and dont forget the doc feeder chip as well, or you will have problems.

                          check the scaner movement

with the cover open check the scanner movement maybe is anormal in part of distorsion
                          good look
