what could be the problem with a canon imageclass mf 8080cw multifunction printer that stopped making copies, and scanning. I check the scanning mechanics ie. light and scan bar movement all are functioning correctly. There doesn't seem to be any blockage the printer is clean. Just wondering if it's a board problem, or the scanner assembly?

Re: problem with scanner/copier function
Do you get an error message?
Does the paper jam?
Does the scanner attempt to move?
We'll need just a tiny bit more information please. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: problem with scanner/copier function
No Error Message, No Paper Jams, Scanning bar lights up and moves as designed.
When I make a copy with text either from the manual feed or the flatbed, the paper feeds comes out blank (white sheet).
When I make a copy with the lid up, I am expecting a black page, but instead I get a blank (white sheet)..
I believe it is possibly a bad board or even worse a bad Scanner assembly just don't know for sure.

Re: problem with scanner/copier function
Are there any internal reports or demo pages you can print from the user menu? Can you print to it? If there is image for any of the previous, it could be a scanner problem.
Another thing you can do is emergency stop the machine with the paper at the drum (open a door at the right moment, it may take a few tries). Is there a developed image on the drum, but not on the paper? If yes, it's a transfer issue. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
