IRAC2030 & IRAC2230 firmware the same?????

Another question of you don't mind!?

Are there two types of firmware, eg: one you use the SST to create a USB boot pen drive & another version that you simply copy onto a USB pen without using the SST?

Only one firmware but can be loaded direct via SST or loaded on USB ( from SST ) and then loaded to machine by inserting USB while machine is off then power on holding 2 and 8 buttons at same time.

So ive just downloaded this file from Canon UK called " 20150126iAC2030v440101USJP20141211.0440101" when unzipped it has dozens of files, do I basically unzip this file directly to the USB pen drive????

When you unzip the ones from Canon USA it should give you only 2 main things a folder (with many items in it) and a .ift file. Load both of directly onto the root of your USB drive. Insert USB into the machine and power it up while holding 2 & 8 and you should get a menu. I usually choose over write all. Hope this helps.

Maybe the UK site is different, I can register the files using the SST then create the USB fine, but not sure what files to download to put on the USB without using the SST!

Does the UK site offer you the ability to download either an SST version or a USB version?

don't expand the unzipped file/

have u installed the SST PROGRAM_???

when u install the SST PROGRAM > it creates Canon default location folders (example below)C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder_in here u will see SST Files folder & USB Files folder.

u extract the iAC2030 ZIP FILE to this location _C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\USB Files
under USB Files u will see
and drag the entire iAC2030 folder( don't expand/open folder) into USB STICK

what type of Firmware ver did u download ?

SST or USB ?? u actually don't need to register in SST (see my easy way//)
when u download and follow location install prompts> they will be loaded into the Canon Folder locations/

u can drag either the SST ver for model or USB ver for model into a stick
USB is a scalded down ver that eliminates some languages/rui depending on country where firmware is downloaded.

Canon uk does not have usb ready files, you need to register the firmware in sst then put the firmware on the usb stick using sst.
