C253 vs c353 iu and dv

Does anyone know if a c253 and c353 use same iu and developer units?

They are keyed differently. You may be able to put a C353 chip on a C253 IU and vice versa. I have never tried it.

Only difference is the chip I've swapped many around.

Most aftermarket reset chips are universal and fit both c253 & 353.

Same thing with aftermarket "toner" chips, they will fit both C253 & C353 toners but you have to modify the front cover to fit in the other model.

I used to have around 100 of this series in my accounts and I swapped IU's from C253's to C353's and other way around all the time with just changing the chip. Never had an issue.
