4050 E301

Hi all
Got a 4050 giving a E301 code.
The machine boots up and throws the code out in about 1 min after bootup.
Have loaded latest f/w and f/w for this code, formatted HDD, gives the code even with the network cable out.
Any ideas?

Try a fax file format or intialize fax settings, Uninstall Fax unit

Try an initialization of network settings also after see if still happening.

what does the manual say is the cause of the error?

E301 is a general error code, it is very hard to diagnose the exact cause. Just about every firmware upgrade on these devices "fixes" a E301...I would go with firmware 1st. Is there anything else in the equation you haven't mentioned...some 3rd party authentication, advanced scanning ect?...Emujo
