Hello everyone!

We have a C224e for which the maintenance contract has just expired, so I have not yet had to deal intensively with the device.

How do I even find out which (main) firmware is currently installed?
I can go to the "ROM version" in the admin panel and get a bunch of version numbers for the installed options, but I somehow can't see a main firmware version there ...

its the last 3 letters and numbers like G00-n5
you can hit utility and system information for FW version and IP address.

Thing is:

For sending the scans by mail I use a Synology DS (MailPlus Server) and since an update yesterday the encrypted connection is rejected by the mail server.

There are three TLS / SSL Profile Level in DS:

Modern	1.3
Intermediate	1.3/1.2
Old backward	1.3/1.2/1.1/1.0

Actually, the C224e should support "Intermediate" if TLS 1.2 is enabled.
But it does not. (Not anymore, yesterday it still worked.) I have checked and tried all SSL related settings on the C224e -> Not a chance ...

To make it work again, I have to set the compatibility to "old backward" on the mail server.

However, I don't really want that ... At least not permanently.
Should a C224e firmware update remedy this, that would be a better choice instead of opening the mail server down.

You can disable/enable different TLS versions via Web Interface.

You can end up in trouble if you have both old and new versions enabled because the KM starts handshaking with the lower TLS versions first.
Depending on the server the MFP will be rejected before it does the next attempt with a higher TLS version.

This is how it looks on our system / you should uncheck the unwanted versions and check the encryption strenght:
