How to Wrap Scanner Cables on a C284e

    Hello:
I'm looking for info on how to wrap scanner cables on a C284e. The service manual does not provide any info. Nor does KMBS support.
    Thank you,

That was my suggestion. Find a good scanner to snap some shots of. Focus on the wire rope drums (counting number of turns), and the routing of the wire through the pulleys. There was a time when we re-strung scanner cables in beginners class. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Oh so much fun.... especially realtime in the field when you have nothing to compare too.
Darn the scanner frame is skewed 45deg. So... undo all the wire cable routing an try again.

Jebus....you just revived the thing nightmares depend on!

But yeah follow a working machine and be very careful it is easy to get the cable caught on something and rip the plastic coating off the cable (that is, if the cables have the same coating as the prior models).

A helping hand will be handy. Could not do it alone on a C360.
