OK picture of what it looks identical to a C3 53 but many machines of that year age do
if there is a specific picture that you need to look at that will tell you exactly what it is tell me and I will take that picture
That's weird, it looks like an NEC model # but the C353 is IT35 C5. I've never seen a 35 C4 and no where on my cross reference lists. Does it have IT in front of #'s. Like the other poster said post a picture and we will figure it out.
I'm sure most here know NEC designed the C253 and other color models. And Konica stuck with B&W. Not sure about now but back then NEC was making K/M color boxes.
If you print out a config page it should say Generic 35C-4, which is a C353. You probably have the "planets" screen when booting up the machine, too. This is an easy fix:
1. Access the Service Mode.
2. Select System 2.
3. Select Software Switch Setting.
4. Enter Switch No. "10".
5. Bin Assignment "00000000".
6. Hex Assignment "02".
7. Click on Fix.
8. Click on End.
9. Power the MFP OFF/ON.
10. Print another Configuration Page. Page Header should now be changed to Konica Minolta.
