    Re: 4000P Firmware, Memory, AirPrint

I tried once to update FW on these and failed miserably
Don't remember exact error and didn't have time to play with printer anymore.
I absolutely hate the way KM or who one else made them do the FW updates.
It all depends on this and that and back and forth... then chances you have bricked the machine are more than half.

Thank you. The Update worked flawlessly So i assume the other Versions @Synthohol gave me are also for a Printer with Options.

Do you also have the other Versions? LW62, LW70, LW71?
      That would be great

I have never seen different firmware updates for different options like this.
What a weird thing to provide updates from KM...

Yeah I just gave you the newest ones on top of the list from KM.
I did t know what options you had so I just used the newest.
Same for the versions you asked for.

Next time I'll ask more specifically what the machine has.

Sorry for any mixup but it sounds like it's all sorted?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
          The medication helps though...

No worries Thank you very much for providing me the firmware files.
I didn`t knew that there were differences regarding the installed options.

As of now FW41 is running and working well.
But i would like to update to the newest firmware.
Is there a newer firmware for my printer (4000P - no options)? Like LW62, LW70, LW72 or are these just for Printer Options?

Plain Jane--basic options, no PKXX or other option that requires special f/w. E

Reading the firmware comments, you will now have to update to LW50 first and then you can proceed with the installation of LW70. The other updates should not be necessary.

                    Okay, thank you

                    LW70 is the newest?

Edit: And do i need another Firmware Version for the EM-P02 1 GB DIMM Option?

Yes the LW70 is the last one.
I don't seem to see firmware for that, so I don't think you need to upgrade again

Okay, thank you very much for your help

                        Firmware is working ✔
                        AirPrint is working ✔

Only my Memory / RAM "Problem" still exists.
It would be good to know, if i need original KM RAM for a Memory Upgrade, or can i use normal DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM Modules.
Do i need a special Firmware for the RAM Option or a KM License?

Theoretically it is plug and play. You insert the RAM and no update is necessary. Can I try to understand the reason for the increase in RAM?

I have some 1GB RAM Modules lying around that i don`t need anymore and it came in mind to upgrade the Printer Memory with one of them, so it has a use again.
And with Memory it`s Better to have, and not need, than to need, and not have.

So i`d just like to upgrade it. It`s not necessary.
If you guys are telling me i shouldn`t do it, i won`t

The basic model comes with 256 MB..Expandable up to 1.28 GB with either the 512 mb, or 1gb chips (EM P01, EM P02) Not sure if there is 1 extra slot for the expanded memory, but it is DDR3, and is states "provides extra memory for printing functions" so more would be better.
